How did that girl with the 'Friday' song get a music contract?

OMG she sounds horrible! The news was just saying how "you have to
*pay* now to get her song *Friday*. I guess it must have been free
before on Apple or something. Pay?! Pay for that?! They must be joking
lol ! And did her songs start off as a joke at one time anyway like a
gimmick?! It seems like a joke that caught on and made her famous.
Kinda like Weird Al, but at least Weird Al's mocking songs were funny
lol. Oh, her name is Rebecca BTW.
Well if the song was "never free" as you say, why is the news now
saying "you gotta pay" then???
